Dental Implant Stages

Dental implants are a complex surgical procedure that requires the skill and experience of an expert dentist in this field. Dental implants have several main stages, which are:

1. Initial evaluation: At this stage, the condition of the mouth and teeth is evaluated and it is determined whether dental implants are the best option for the patient.

2. Surgical preparation: At this stage, the mouth is prepared for surgery, which may include removing the remaining teeth or excess connective tissue.

3. Artificial root implantation: At this stage, the artificial root is inserted into the jaw through a minor surgical procedure, and the root is fixed in the bone.

4. Waiting: The jaw needs time for the artificial root to heal with the bone before inserting the artificial crown, and this time can take between 3 to 6 months.

5. Artificial crown insertion: After the artificial root heals with the bone, the artificial crown is inserted into the artificial root to replace the missing tooth.

Dental implants require special care and reducing excessive loads on the jaw, as hard, soft and crunchy foods should be avoided for a period of time after the procedure. It is important to clean the mouth well and take care of the dentures by cleaning them regularly and visiting the dentist periodically to check them and ensure that they are working properly.
